Students will have opportunities to investigate, creatively design and make, and evaluate textile products.
Course Description
In Year 10, students will acquire knowledge and understanding about three areas which will be taught through an integrated approach, using a variety of Design Briefs:
- Materials and components
- Design and market influences
- Processes and manufacture.
Much of Year 11 is spent carrying out the design and making controlled assessment project. Students will demonstrate their ability to creatively design and make, in an integrated way, using their knowledge and understanding, to produce a major project consisting of a design folio and practical realisation of a quality product.
Assessment
Design and Making Practice Controlled Assessment: 60% - 45 hours
Written Paper: 40% - 2 hours . A preparation sheet is issued giving advance notice of the context for the paper.
