Attendance

Procedure for reporting your child’s absence from school and also for all student appointments (for students in year 7 to 11 only).

  1. Please ring attendance on 02392 248053 on the first day of absence to report your child’s absence.  If you cannot get through on the attendance number, please call 02392 259214.
  2. Parents need to ring the school on the first day of absence or alternatively they can email the absence to absence@oaklandscatholicschool.org (leaving a contact number on the email for verification purposes).
  3. When the child returns to school – either the child brings a note to give to their form tutor or the parent sends an email if they haven't already done so to absence@oaklandscatholicschool.org reporting the date(s) and reason for absence. They can also reply via the keep kids safe texting service if they have received a text previously regarding their child’s absence.

Leave of absence forms (for the purpose of exceptional circumstances only) can be obtained from main reception/student services and should be returned to student services for authorisation by Mrs Oldroyd.

Oaklands Sixth Form College:  Reporting an absence

To report an absence, Sixth Form parents/students should contact the Sixth Form office by ringing the main school number and pressing option 2 for Sixth Form, or emailing oaklandssixthform@oaklandscatholicschool.org.
